Aira’s Story: A Graduate of Child Sponsorship Program

Aira’s journey is one of perseverance, faith, and gratitude, a story shaped by challenges, strengthened by faith, and lifted by the support of her church, sponsor, and God’s grace.

Hi, I’m Aira Magbanua. I’m 22 years old, and I’m from Llano, Caloocan City. I grew up in a big, close-knit family, with six siblings and I’ve always believed in the value of faith, hard work, and gratitude. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Bestlink College of the Philippines. It was a long journey filled with challenges, but also with many blessings. Growing up, we often faced financial challenges. My parents worked very hard, but sometimes their income wasn’t enough to provide for all our needs. Still, we remained strong and close as a family, and we trusted God through every difficulty. ‎

I’ve been part of the Child Sponsorship Program since I started school, back in nursery. My Papa used to work for Pastor Titus, who introduced our family to the church and the sponsorship program. From then on, I became a beneficiary, and it changed the course of my life. ‎ When I was a child, I started attending Sunday school. Later, I became part of the church choir. Over time, my involvement in church grew, and so did my faith. I learned to depend on God, not just in good times but especially when things got tough. The church became my second home and played a big role in my spiritual growth. The program helped me in many ways, especially with school expenses. But it didn’t stop there. During difficult times, they also supported my family by providing supplies and essentials. More than the material help, they gave me hope and encouragement to keep going.

To my sponsor, thank you for giving me this opportunity and for supporting me throughout my studies. To the church, thank you for being one of my support systems. And most of all, I thank God, for not letting me give up on my dreams, even when things were hard. I am here today because of His grace and because of the people He used to bless me. May God continue to bless you all and use you to help others, just as you helped me.
