My name is Priya Vida Gordora, and I am a graduate with a Bachelor of Secondary Education, majoring in Social Studies, from Metro Manila College. I am the eldest child in my family. My mother, Emilly Gordora, is a street sweeper in our barangay. My father, Cleto Gordora, is a tricycle driver. We are four siblings, and I’m the eldest.

I became part of the Sponsorship Program when I was in pre-school at Llano Childcare Center. As I grew up, I became active in the church and was baptized on December 27, 2016. I joined the choir and the Young People’s Ministry. Growing up in the church and as a believer in Christ, I have learned how to socialize with people and developed traits of forgiveness and generosity. As of this year, 2024, the KMI Program has supported me for almost 17 years.

In those 17 years, I also faced many challenges. While in college, I struggled financially, needing to pay tuition fees every semester. I also faced mental health challenges because I often felt alone and didn't want to talk to anyone. My family faced difficulties in budgeting daily expenses and securing enough food before and during the pandemic. I overcame these challenges because God sent people to help me during that time. I received another opportunity to join a KMI program as a college scholar, and I am still grateful to be part of it.

The Kapatid Ministry never fails to help those in need, like me. They have supported my studies and assisted my family during the pandemic. I am most grateful to the Lord for giving me people who lend a helping hand and guide me on the right path.

I would like to thank my sponsor for being consistent throughout the 17 years. I want to say that I am nothing without your help and generosity. Thank you so much.

To my fellow sponsored children who face many challenges in life, continue to have faith in the Lord. Never doubt His powers. Strive harder for the future. Know your priorities and set goals every day. Your goals will guide you to finish the course you want.
