Hi! I’m Rhina, 21 years old from Sta. Fe Caloocan City, a 3rd-year student of Hospitality Management in Bestlink College of the Philippines. We are two siblings and I am the eldest. I'm also one of the breadwinners in my family. Being the eldest child is difficult. It's not easy because of the responsibilities that I need to do and all the expectations of my parents that I need to meet. There are times, I fear that one day I can't meet their expectations. How will they feel? When this pandemic started my father's job was affected. His work was reduced to only three days a week and his salary is not enough for us. There are times that I need to pay for my own tuition fee because my parents cannot afford it. My mother's salary is not also enough because we also have electric and water bills. So being the eldest, I decided to look for a part-time job. By God’s grace I saw the kindness of the Lord in this pandemic. First, my Aunt was looking for an employee to work in the Korean shop, and she hired me to be a cashier. Second, the Lord didn’t let my family get sick though we are working outside. He is also guiding me in everything I do. Months and years have passed, I am so delighted that I have a healthy mind and body. I wanted to share the kindness of the Lord with other people by giving them food as long as I can afford. I have a soft heart for people who need help, especially the abandoned elders, and sharing my knowledge of God’s words to my friends giving them encouragement that God is always there and they are not alone in facing their battles. It feels good to experience and live the Lord's kindness. I believe that every blessing we received from God is a way for us to share with other people.
